About the Product
Our Core Cylinder Ash Catcher helps keep your bong clean and adds smooth filtration. For the best fit, choose a 90° angle for straight bongs or 45° for beaker-style bongs.
Our Core Cylinder Disc Perc Ash Catcher is a helpful accessory for keeping your water pipe clean. It attaches right between your bowl and bong, using a built-in honeycomb percolator to catch ash and other debris. This process keeps your main piece looking great and also cools your hit for a smoother experience.
We make this ash catcher from durable, 2mm thick clear glass, so it is built for regular use. Its simple and effective design is an essential upgrade for anyone looking to clean less often and have better sessions.
Product Specifications
We designed every part of this ash catcher for great function and an easy fit. The honeycomb disc creates tight bubbles for maximum filtration, while the standard 14mm joint ensures it fits many popular water pipes. Here is how each specification gives you a better session.
| Specification | Value | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Percolator Type | Honeycomb Disc | Creates dense, stacked bubbles for superior filtration and cooling with minimal drag. |
| Material | Borosilicate Glass | Provides excellent thermal resistance and clarity, ensuring durability for daily use. |
| Joint Size & Gender | 14mm Male | Offers a secure, standard fit for the most common female joint size on bongs and rigs. |
| Design | Cylinder Body | Provides ample volume for water and smoke, preventing splash-back and ensuring effective percolation. |
Which Ash Catcher Angle Fits Your Bong?
Choosing the right angle is crucial for making sure your ash catcher sits upright and works correctly. An incorrect angle can lead to spills or an unstable setup. Use this simple guide to find out if you need the 45° or 90° version.
Should You Choose A 45 Or 90 Degree Ash Catcher?
- Choose the 90° Ash Catcher if: Your water pipe's joint is positioned straight up, perpendicular to the floor. This is common on straight tube bongs and many dab rigs with vertical joints.
- Choose the 45° Ash Catcher if: Your water pipe's joint comes out at an angle. This is typical for most beaker bongs and pipes with angled downstems. The 45° ash catcher will correct this angle, allowing it to sit level.
To be certain, look at your bong from the side. If the joint points directly up, you need 90°. If it points out at an angle, you need 45°.
What Features Make This Ash Catcher Effective?
Beyond its basic function, the design of our Core Cylinder ash catcher includes features that maximize its filtering power and usefulness. Let's see how they get the job done.
How Does The Honeycomb Disc Percolator Work?
A honeycomb disc is a flat piece of glass filled with dozens of small holes. As smoke is pulled through, it is forced through these openings, breaking it up into thousands of tiny bubbles. This action greatly increases the surface area of the smoke that touches the water, resulting in quick cooling and effective filtration.
What Is The Benefit Of The Cylinder Design?
The straight, cylindrical body offers a clean look and a key functional advantage. It provides a generous water volume to submerge the percolator properly without being overly bulky. This shape also helps prevent water from splashing up into your bong, keeping your setup clean and your hits dry.
Budget-Friendly Ash Catcher Options Under $30
Finding the right accessory can improve your entire experience. While our Core Cylinder is a fantastic choice for diffusion, here is how it compares to other affordable options you might consider.
| Ash Catcher | Primary Benefit | Percolator Type | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core Cylinder Disc Perc | Maximum Diffusion | Honeycomb Disc | Users wanting the smoothest hit. |
| Basic Dry Catcher | Ash Trapping Only | None | Simplicity and zero added drag. |
| Standard Inline Perc | Good Filtration | Slitted Tube | A balance of filtration and airflow. |
| Mini Beaker Catcher | High Stability | Fixed Downstem | Smaller setups needing extra balance. |
How To Use And Clean Your Disc Perc Ash Catcher
Proper use and regular maintenance will keep your ash catcher working perfectly. Following a few simple steps will ensure you get clean, filtered hits every time.
How Much Water Should You Put In The Ash Catcher?
Fill the ash catcher with enough water to fully submerge the honeycomb disc by about a quarter-inch. This level ensures proper filtration without adding too much drag or risking water splashing into your bong. Test it with a gentle pull before lighting to check the water level.
What Is The Best Way To Clean A Disc Perc?
Because of the small holes, disc percs need careful cleaning. First, rinse with hot water to remove loose debris. Then, fill the ash catcher with a solution of 99% isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt. Plug the openings and shake gently—avoid aggressive shaking that could damage the perc. Let it soak for 30 minutes for tough resin, then rinse thoroughly with hot water.
